World Bank: Romania to post 0.5%t GDP rise in 2010

Washington/Bucharest, Jan 21 /Agerpres/ - Romania will post a rise in the GDP at 0.5 percent in 2010, as compared to a minus 7.8 percent drop in 2009, shows a World Bank report on the developments of the economies in Central Europe and Asia made public on Thursday.

The current account deficit will be minus 4.9 percent this year; this compares to minus 4.2 percent in 2009.

The World Bank anticipates for 2011 that the Romanian GDP will rise at 4.2 percent, while the current account gap will widen to minus 5.5 percent. AGERPRES
