Traian Basescu: Romania will never sign treaty redefining border with Republic of Moldova.
Bucharest, Jan 27 /Agerpres/ - Romania will never sign a treaty meant to redefine the border with the Republic of Moldova, said President Traian Basescu in Chisinau on Wednesday.

'Romania will never sign a treaty that should redefine the border between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Romania recognized the state frontiers of the Republic of Moldova as they were inherited from the former Soviet Union. Romania is willing to sign a treaty aimed at a border regime as it was inherited from the former Soviet Union,' said Traian Basescu, who added that the Romanian authorities wanted to implement European standards on the border, which are much more advantageous for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
