Chisinau, Jan 28 /Agerpres/ - Agerpres special correspondent Irinela Mica reports: President Traian Basescu and Mihai Ghimpu, Interim President of the Republic of Moldova, laid each a wreath at the Romanian Cemetery of Honour at Tiganca, Cahul County (south-western Republic of Moldova), the Romanian Head of State having been met by over 500 people.

Among the 500 people present, there were many youngsters waving three-coloured flags. Somebody thanked the Romanian President for the support granted to schools, the President's reply being that more would be done.
Traian Basescu also declared that his presence there was a sign of gratitude to the soldiers who had died in action, defending their country.
Those present chanted slogans such as: 'Long live Moldova and Romania!' 'Long lives united Romania!' 'We are all Romanians!' 'Basescu and Ghimpu!'
Some of them sang a couple of lyrics from the 'We are Romanians' song.
