Romania: Cartel Alfa: Retirement age - life expectancy correlation required
Bucharest, Jan 28 /Agerpres/ - Vice-president of the Cartel Alfa National Trade Union Confederation Peter Dandea considers that the retirement age should be linked to life expectancy.
'It is cynical of the rulers to ask for the rise in the retirement age for men to 65, when life expectancy is 67 years,' Dandea stated on Thursday at the seat of the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Security (MMFPS). The union leader believes that the negotiations on the Unitary pension Law will still take some time, as the social partners are dissatisfied with the scheme for the recalculation of special pensions. The standard retirement age proposed in the draft Law on the unitary public pension system is 65 years for both women and men. AGERPRES [www.romaniapress.com]
