Romania: Gov't to issue ordinance on National Citizenship Authority
Bucharest, Jan 29 /Agerpres/ - The Boc Cabinet is expected today to issue an emergency ordinance concerning the establishment, organisation and functioning of a National Citizenship Authority, according to the Government's agenda released by the Government's Press Office.
The announcement concerning the establishment of this organisation was made by President Traian Basescu on a visit Wednesday and Thursday to Chisinau, Moldova. The President said the new authority will be headquartered in Bucharest and it will have five local offices - in Iasi, Galati, Suceava, Timisoara and Cluj - that will process the applications for Romanian citizenship. So far, the Citizenship Department at the Justice Ministry would manage the issues related to Romanian citizenship. AGERPRES [www.romaniapress.com]
