Romania: ForMin Baconschi welcomes German ambassador von Mettenheim.
Bucharest, Feb 9 /Agerpres/ - Romania's Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi on Monday welcomed Germany's ambassador in Bucharest Andreas von Mettenheim to discuss topics on the political and economic bilateral agenda, the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) reports in a press release.

The bilateral economic and political agenda is this year placed under the sign of the 130th anniversary since the establishment of first diplomatic ties between Romania and Germany.

The highlights of the high-level political dialogue for the next future were mentioned and agreement was reached over deepening bilateral sectoral cooperation.

Baconschi and van Mettenheim are said to have exchanged comprehensive views on regional matters. Discussed were the dynamics of the Romanian-Moldovan bilateral relationship following a recent visit to Moldova by Romania's President Traian Basescu, the regional impact of Romania's inclusion in the US Missile Defence programme, as well as the outcome of the Sunday's presidential run-off in Ukraine.
