Romania: Households flooded, landslides due to rains and snow-melting.
Bucharest, Feb 21 /Agerpres/ - The 10 Buzau-Brasov national road was blocked on Saturday to Sunday night by a heavy landslide which took place at the exit of Patarlagele town to Nehoiu, both ways of the traffic being made useless for a period of time.

The rail traffic between south-western Craiova and Drobeta - Turnu Severin cities was interrupted in the same night due to a landslide caused at the Balota locality in the Mehedinti county, the said phenomenon also affecting the railway on tens of meters.

Cca 20 households in the Magura Ilvei commune (the Bistrita-Nasaud county, norhteast of Bucharest) were flooded at the dawns of Sunday, after an about half a kilometre pack of ice blocked the bed of the Ilva river, and its waters flooded the banks. The ice was dynamited after three hours.

Hundreds of hectares of pasture and crop land, several communal roads, households and houses were flooded on Sunday morning in the southern Giurgiu county, after the Neajlov river over-banked.

Two houses and almost 200 households were flooded in Craiova, the capital-city of the southern Dolj county, due to the floods and quick snow melting. The houses affected by the floods are located in Brestei, a slum lacking sewerage.

2,500-odd inhabitants of the Malu cu Flori and Pucheni communes with the Dambovita county (southern Romania) are still isolated and lack electric power, after the county road linking the two communes crumbled due to landslides, and four power pillars were seriously damaged.

Around 150 hectares of crop land and 50 hectares of pasture around the Videle town (southern Romania) were flooded after the waters of the two creeks in the zone, Sericu and Glavacioc, went over their banks.AGERPRES
