Romania: Code yellow warning of Danube flooding from Thursday.
Bucharest, Feb 23 /Agerpres/ - The hydrologists have issued a Code Yellow warning of flooding on the Danube River starting 6 a.m. on Thursday at Isaccea, the southeastern Tulcea county, while the Danube is expected to overflow its banks starting Friday in the areas of Bechet - Zimnicea, the southern counties of Olt and Teleorman respectively, at Isaccea, Tulcea and at Cernavoda (Constanta county, in the south-east).
A Code Yellow warning of floods will be enforced starting Monday, March 1 at Calafat, Dolj county(southern Romania).
The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management anticipates that the Danube will swollen with the rainwater downstream the Portile de Fier (Iron Gates) hydro-electric plant (southwestern Romania).
The hydrologists also extended until 4 p.m. on Wednesday a Code Orange alert of floods on the rivers in the southern counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu and Calarasi. AGERPRES
