Romania: Social Democrat Senator Cristian Diaconescu joins independents' group in Parliament.
Bucharest, Feb 24 /Agerpres/ - Coordinator of the Independent Parliamentarians Group Gabriel Oprea told Agerpres on Wednesday that Social Democrat (PSD) Senator Cristian Diaconescu has joined the Independents' Group starting on Wednesday. Honorary president of the opposition Social Democrats Ion Iliescu told Agerpres on Wednesday that Diaconescu's move to quit the PSD was regrettable. 'I am surprised by this reaction of Mr. Cristian Diaconescu and it is regrettable. I mean, I should have kind of expected it from other people, but not from him. It is regrettable', the former President of Romania said. AGERPRES [Read the article in ]
