Romania: Corpse of soldier killed in Afghanistan to be repatriated on Thursday.
Bucharest, Feb 25 /Agerpres/ - The corpse of Sub-lieutenant (posthumously) Florin Badiceanu, who fell on duty during mission in Afghanistan, will be repatriated on Thursday afternoon, on board of a military aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, to land on the Craiova airport (southern Romania).

Romanian Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea and Chief of General Staff Admiral Gheorghe Marin will attend the military and religious ceremonies organised at the airport. On this occasion, there will be read the Order of the Defence Minister advancing Florin Badiceanu (posthumously) to the rank of Sub-lieutenant.

There will also be presented the decree of the Romanian President on bestowing (posthumously) to Florin Badiceanu the National Order 'Star of Romania' in rank of Knight, as a sign of gratitude and high appreciation for the exceptional devotion shown during mission execution.

The hero's funeral will be held on Sunday, February 28, in the Marului Valley locality in the Arges County (southern Romania).

The Sub-lieutenant (posthumously) Florin Badiceanu, of the 33rd Maneuver Battalion, fell on duty on Tuesday, February 23, in Afghanistan, during the execution of a mission to patrol the highway A1, Kandahar-Kabul. The armored vehicle carrying the soldier passed over an improvised explosive device. AGERPRES
