Romania’s current account deficit up 84.79 pct in 2017.
The current account of Romania's 2017 balance of payments ran a deficit of over 6.464 billion euro, up 84.79 percent from 2016, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) said in a release on Tuesday. The goods deficit was by 2.774 bln euro higher, and the primary income deficit was also by 566 ml euro wider; the surplus of the balance of services was 239 million euro higher, whereas the surplus of secondary revenues advanced by 135 million euro, the release said. The country's total external debt over January - December 2017 increased by 1.044 bln euro.
